Fatal dehydration causes cooling system to fail
Issue: ✓ Fatal dehydration causes cooling system to fail
ID: 2228

Date: 2021-06-23 16:28:04
Reported in: 8.5b2
Resolved in: 12.0.22
Priority: Duplicate or Already Resolved
Product/Component: ATOS/E - General (ATOS/E)
The test parameters:
dax/3 unit Kyn Erin running 8.5b2, ATOS/E 12.0.7,12.0.12,12.0.13, and the latest TESI.
The test itself:
Drain the unit of all lubricant and then put it back.
The result:
Fan gets capped at 4% speed on ATOS/E 12.0.12 and higher when lubricant hits 0 resulting in a fatal overheating loop.
On ATOS/E 12.0.7 fan speed goes up and compensates for lack of lubricant and heat while unstable does not become fatal.

When lubricant is readded to the systems running ATOS/E 12.0.12 and higher the  fan is still capped at 4% and the fatal overheating loop continues.

This is intended. Controllers without fans are affected more severely. Of  course, it should go away after lubricant is added in theory, but by then it seems the machine is already a heap of molten slag. Too little, too late?
